This page sets out the terms and conditions clients must agree to when working with BookedByDesign.com. They are designed to make the process of working together fair and reasonable for both designer and client.
All the information that clients share with us is considered confidential, and will only be used by BookedByDesign.com to provide a quote for our services, or to complete a book cover design project.
We will not share this information with any third party, unless requested to do so by our client.
We do not liaise with third parties (such as printers, publishers or editors) on behalf of our clients, and request that clients do not pass on our details or email addresses on to any third parties.
RIGHTS OF OWNERSHIP
When the balance payment is received, BookedByDesign.com will grant the client exclusive license for the final cover design. We will provide the design in PDF, JPEG or another publishing-ready format as requested.
The client agrees that they have no right to alter the completed design in any way.
We will not provide the client with source files.
The client must abide by the terms of the license agreement for the images used in the cover design, which have been purchased by BookedByDesign.com for use on the design.
The cost of your cover design includes the rights to use the complete book cover as a whole, to a print-run of 500,000 units, or sales in the case of ebooks. If necessary, this 500,000 limit can be extended, for an additional cost. This based on stock photo print rights, and it is the client’s responsibility to inform BookedByDesign.com if this is the case.
It is the client’s responsibility to order a proof copy of their cover design from their printer before putting their book on sale.
In the case of any problems or expenses incurred by the client in relation to using the cover design, BookedByDesign.com will take no financial or legal responsibility for this.
The client must provide vendor name, trim size, and page count in order for BookedByDesign.com to produce the print-ready file.
The client agrees to pay a 50% deposit upfront in order to have their project scheduled in for work to start for custom work. The balance is due prior to the delivery of the final full-size file. Once final payment has been received, BookedByDesign.com regards this as final approval of the overall design, and the contract to be fulfilled.
All premades must be paid in full in advance and ordered from this website.
Either the client or BookedByDesign.com may cancel a project before the start date by providing written notice to the other, and will be under no further obligation to the other party.
If, after the initial deposit has been paid, and work has started on the design, the client chooses to end the project, they agree to forfeit the deposit already paid. This is to cover costs and time already incurred by BookedByDesign.com.
If BookedByDesign.com ends the project, they will refund the deposit already paid.
